How Do I Get Rid of Crow's Feet?

Contents:

Crow's feet, those pesky little lines that fan out from the corners of your eyes, are a common sign of ageing. They are often the first wrinkles to appear and it is completely normal for them to start showing as early as your mid 20s. While they're a natural part of growing older, many people find them bothersome and seek ways to reduce their appearance. So, if you’re asking yourself “how do I get rid of crow's feet”, that's what I’m here to explore.

Can I prevent Crow’s Feet?

While it may not be possible to completely prevent crow’s feet from forming (unless you plan on never smiling again!), there are steps you can take to delay their onset and reduce their visibility.

Firstly, protect your skin from harmful UV rays by wearing sunglasses and applying sunscreen daily – even in winter or on cloudy days! This will help maintain your skin’s elasticity for longer.

Secondly, adopting a good skincare routine from an early age can make a big difference. Start using eye cream when you’re around 20 years old – look for products containing retinol or peptides which boost collagen production. We love Obaji as an option for high grade, effective skincare when it comes to wrinkle prevention!

Lastly, maintaining a healthy lifestyle can also help. This includes getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet rich in antioxidants, and avoiding smoking.

Can Crow’s Feet be reversed?

If prevention methods are no longer enough and crow’s feet have already made their appearance, don’t worry – there are still ways to reverse the situation. One of the most popular solutions is Botox.

Botox works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it's injected. This causes temporary paralysis in these muscles, preventing them from contracting and thereby smoothing out wrinkles. It's a quick procedure that usually takes less than 20 minutes, with minimal downtime.

However, it's important to note that Botox is not a permanent solution. The effects typically last between three to six months before the lines slowly start to reappear as the muscle action gradually returns. Regular treatments are necessary to maintain the results.

What is the most effective treatment for Crow’s Feet?

Botox Newbury

Apart from Botox, there are other treatment options available for reducing crow’s feet. These include dermal fillers which plump up the skin from beneath to smooth out wrinkles and microneedling which creates tiny punctures in the skin to trigger its natural healing process and boost collagen and elastin production.

Each of these treatments has its own set of pros and cons, which is why I discuss all options with my clients during their consultation. I can then advise you on the best course of action based on your individual needs and circumstances.

How Do I Get Rid of Crow's Feet?

While crow’s feet may be an inevitable part of ageing for many of us, there are plenty of ways to reduce their appearance and keep your skin looking youthful for longer. Whether you choose prevention methods or opt for treatments like Botox or dermal fillers, remember that everyone ages differently – what matters most is feeling comfortable in your own skin!
