If you'd asked this question five or six years ago, you'd probably have got a very different answer. Back then, tear trough filler was being offered everywhere. If you looked tired, had dark circles or noticed hollows under your eyes, chances are someone suggested filler. Fast forward to today and it's become one of the most debated treatments in aesthetics. Nobody walks into clinic asking “Can you make me look slightly uncanny?” It happens slowly. A little more cheek filler here. Another lip top up there. A bit more chin projection because it “still doesn’t feel defined enough.” And because the changes happen gradually, people (usually the person whose face is slowly inflating) adapt to them visually. That’s filler blindness.

A lot of the women I treat naturally have thinner lips. Others have noticed their lips changing with age - less definition, less hydration, lipstick bleeding into lines, the top lip slowly disappearing into the abyss. None of this means you need giant lips. And despite what Instagram might suggest, not everyone needs to look like a Kardashian/Jenner spin off to be attractive.
